What Size Patch Fits a Richardson 112?
There is no single perfect patch size for every logo, but the Richardson 112 gives you a useful front-panel area for most business, outdoor and crew logos.
That size works well for many horizontal and badge-style front patches, but the artwork proportions should determine the final dimensions.
Useful Richardson 112 Patch Ranges
- Horizontal rectangle / company logo: often around 3.0–3.25" wide.
- Round patch: often around 2.25–2.5" diameter.
- Square or badge shape: commonly around 2.25–2.6" tall/wide depending on the design.
- Tall logo: keep the patch compact enough that it does not crowd the crown seam or bill.
These are production starting points, not rigid rules. The goal is to keep the logo readable while leaving enough visual space around the patch so it looks intentional on the hat.
Wide Logos
Business names and horizontal marks usually benefit from using more width and less height.
Round / Badge Logos
These can often be slightly taller because the shape stays visually centered on the front panel.
Detailed Artwork
Do not shrink a detailed logo until fine text and thin lines become unreadable. Simplifying the artwork may produce a better patch.
